Eye Popper (POP Part 35)

With the following excerpt from my last post:

1971 film The Reverend Turns a Blind Eye.

The “Eye” caught my eye!!  And I thought about the saying “eye popper” (aka “a real eye opener”).

So, I googled “eye popper”, and much to my surprise (butt shouldn’t have been) this came up:

An eye popperrubber popperhopper popper or jumping popper[1] is a children's toy. It consists of a small, dome-shaped piece of rubber or similar material resembling a half of a rubber ball; the shape of a smile is often imprinted on the dome. When pressed, the object inverts and becomes unstable and, after a few seconds, undergoes snap-through buckling to pop back into its original shape, making a loud popping sound.[1][2][3] If resting on the ground when this happens, the toy will fly several feet into the air. It can also be thrown on the ground, causing it to pop upward.[3] The eye popper's behavior resembles the process by which a ball compresses upon hitting a hard surface.[4]

This is BANG ON!!  This “snap through buckling” is the same principal behind the isostatic adjustment that I refer to often in this post!! Note from my recent December 22 post, Roll Land In (POP Part 22)

Wikipedia makes reference to  “Isostatic Adjustment” that relates to the rebounding of the earth as a result of the last glacial maximum, but nothing is mentioned about the fact that the Northern tectonic plates at the edges had curled upward as miles high of glacial ice accumulated on continents of the Northern Hemisphere.  This blog talks about this event often, and only because it is the concern that the inner twin world are trying to bring to our attention.  In fact, if you key the word “Pop” in this blogs search box, many of the posts brought up have to do with this Isostatic Adjustment that we need to wake up to.

I also did more Googling re “snap through buckling” and arrived at this site:
