Fern = Power to DO!! (UPDATED Dec 31st)

The following notable person recently added to Wikipedia’s Deaths in 2025 site stands out:
For one, their first names are obviously related, Fernanda being the feminine form of Fernando, and second, August 27th is also the day my father passed away …, and then his birthday, August 20, is one off from Fernanda’s birthday, so an addition to the “Off By One” pattern cluster.  Thirdly, the name is not that common, so two cropping up on the same day is a twin heads up.  And to top it off, this next person was added to the list today:
  • Latha Walpola (Matharage Rita Genevieve Fernando , 11 November 1934 – 27 December 2025 91, Sri Lankan singer
So another Fernando!! And then 3 days later on  December 30th, yet another Fernando was added to Wikipedia’s Deaths in 2025 site;

The names are also an addition to the “Word in Name” pattern cluster, and so providing us with “fern and do…”, and “fern and a…”.   My tou-sense to finish the sentence — “fern and do as requested” … and “fern and a future”.  So lets dig further into the meaning behind  the fern according to AI:
Symbolic Meanings
  • Good Luck & Fortune: A general symbol of good fortune.
  • Hidden Power: Represents untapped potential and the mystical.
  • Connection to Nature: Links the human world with the fairy realm and the spirit world.
Celtic/Fairy Lore:
    • Associated with fairies, magic, and the unseen world; believed to bring "fairy sight" if seen blooming.

Folklore

Ferns figure in folklore, for example in legends about mythical flowers or seeds.[69] In Slavic folklore, ferns are believed to bloom once a year, during the Ivan Kupala night. Although alleged to be exceedingly difficult to find, anyone who sees a fern flower is thought to be guaranteed to be happy and rich for the rest of their life. Similarly, Finnish tradition holds that one who finds the seedof a fern in bloom on Midsummer night will, by possession of it, be guided and be able to travel invisibly to the locations where eternally blazing Will o' the wisps called aarnivalkea mark the spot of hidden treasure. These spots are protected by a spell that prevents anyone but the fern-seed holder from ever knowing their locations.[70] In Wicca, ferns are thought to have magical properties such as a dried fern can be thrown into hot coals of a fire to exorcise evil spirits, or smoke from a burning fern is thought to drive away snakes and such creatures
