Silver Bullets and Silver Heels

Continuing on from my previous post, and because the Lone Ranger used silver bullets, AND, because the character name Tonto connect in cryptic fashion to another  post made yesterday: Yaya Tongo’s Congo, Yaya Tongo being a notable person who recently passed away:

Yaya Bauchi Tongo (18 June 1963 – 12 June 2026) 62, Nigerian MP

His surname is an addition to the “Exchange Letter in Name Makes a Word” pattern cluster and so making the word “Tonto”, that also happens to be the Lone Rangers partner.

Tonto is a fictional character; he is the Native American (either Tonto ApacheComanche, or Potawatomicompanion of the Lone Ranger,

Throughout the radio run (which spanned 21 years), with only a few exceptions, Tonto was played by American actor John Todd.[3]

Note from John Tod’s wiki page:

John Frederick "Fred" McCarthy (August 14, 1876  July 14, 1957), known professionally as John Todd

OKKKAAY!!  TODAY is June 14th, and so this combined with Todd’s birthday and his day of  death, generates a “June 14, July 14, August 14/14th Day, Month Sequence” pattern cluster,… AND so, also an addition to the “Timely” pattern cluster. Not to mention that today is US President Donald Trump’s birthday.  AND, if you take into consideration the birthday of the actor most renown as the Lone Ranger:

Clayton Moore (born Jack Carlton Moore, September 14, 1914 – December 28, 1999)

The cluster expands: “June 14, July 14, August 14, September 14/14th Day, Month Sequence” pattern cluster.  Note this next excerpt from the Tonto wiki page:

Jay Silverheels portrayed the arguably best-remembered version in The Lone Ranger television series.

Jay Silverheels (born Harold Jay Smith; May 26, 1912 – March 5, 1980)

Note this next excerpt from Tonto’s wiki page:

a popular American Western character created by George W. Trendle and Fran Striker

  • George Washington Trendle (July 4, 1884 – May 10, 1972)
  • Francis Hamilton Striker (August 19, 1903  September 4, 1962)

To my query, AI provides three reasons behind the Lone Ranger’s  use of silver bullets (see below).  I tend to gravitate to the second:

Calling Card: He frequently left a silver bullet at crime scenes. This let lawmen know he had intervened and signaled to outlaws that a force for incorruptible justice was present

3 reasons for Lone Rangers silver bullets:

  • Moral Code: The inherent value of the silver discouraged him from wasting bullets. He trained to shoot with extreme precision, aiming only to disarm. [1]
  • Calling Card: He frequently left a silver bullet at crime scenes. This let lawmen know he had intervened and signaled to outlaws that a force for incorruptible justice was present. [123]
  • Origin Symbol: In certain adaptations, the bullets were a direct tribute to his fallen fellow Texas Rangers, forged by melting down the badges of his murdered comrades. [1]
