Kenneth Vivian Rose RIIP: Putting Up Your Dukes

The Deaths in 2014 site lists under January 26th:

• Fernand Leduc, 97, Canadian abstract painter, cancer 
• Kenneth Vivian Rose, 89, British journalist and author

Both names had stood out for various reasons.  The first one due to the surname "Leduc" which comes from French "the Duke".  Since this is an addition to the "Royalty" pattern-cluster, I considered this a possible lead, butt nothing came out of further investigation, so I moved on to Kenneth Rose.  

His surname is an addition to the "Flora..." pattern-cluster.  Note the following from his wiki page:

Rose was an award winning writer, having won the prestigious Whitbread Book Award in the biography category in 1983 for his book, King George V.

Now this is interesting... a definite addition to the "Royalty" pattern-cluster.  Note the following from King George V wiki page:

George V (George Frederick Ernest Albert; 3 June 1865 – 20 January 1936) 

His date of death is an addition to the "Off By One" pattern-cluster, as in one off from my daughters birthday, January 21st.  This is a lead, one designed to prompt me into continuing along this line of investigation.  The next in line to the throne was Edward III, note the following from his wiki page:

Edward VIII (Edward Albert Christian George Andrew Patrick David; later the Duke of Windsor; 23 June 1894 – 28 May 1972) was King of the United Kingdom and the Dominions of the British Commonwealth, and Emperor of India, from 20 January 1936 until his abdication on 11 December 1936.

Note the "duke" connection.   The date of his abdication re: January 20th, is the anniversary of his fathers death!! A definite "January 20" pattern-cluster in the works... although Edward may have planned it that way.  Note this next excerpt from Edward III's wiki page:

Edward knew that the government led by prime minister Stanley Baldwin would resign if the marriage went ahead

The name Stanley Baldwin stands out, his surname an addition to the recent "Tonsured/Bald..." pattern-cluster.  And his name Stanley (meaning "stone field") is an addition to the "Peter/Stone..." and the "Lee/ley/field" pattern-clusters.  Note from Baldwin's wiki page:

Stanley Baldwin, 1st Earl Baldwin of Bewdley, KG PC FRS^[1] (3 August 1867 – 14 December 1947) 

Note his date of Death, another addition to the recent"December 14/15" pattern-cluster, note this excerpt from yesterdays post,  Tom Sherak RIIP: She Rakes:

 An addition to the "Rhymes" and "Bird" pattern-clusters. Note from his wiki page:

•  Howard Winchel "Hawk" Koch, Jr. (born December 14, 1945) 

The date of December 14 has cropped up a number of times in the last few days, so this is meaningful as well. 

If you continue to read yesterdays post further, you'll discover the date of December 15 had cropped up THREE times on following the leads.

The throne then went to  George VI, note from his wiki page:

 George VI (14 December 1895 – 6 February 1952)

Note the date December 14. Yet ANOTHER an addition to the recent "December 14/15" pattern-cluster!!  Given this, I decided to venture to the December 14 wiki page to see if anything stood out, note the following from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/December_14:

• 1946 – Patty Duke, American actress

What struck me was her last name "Duke"... an addition to the recent "Royalty/Duke..." pattern-cluster. Note this excerpt from her wiki page:

she progressed to more mature roles upon playing Neely O'Hara in the 1967 film Valley of the Dolls.
