I decided to do a little personal research, that is likely influenced by my inner twin as per the inner twin worlds mandate. This brought me to: History of Geodesy, and this excerpt:
Theological doubt informed by the flat Earth model implied in the Hebrew Bible inspired some early Christian scholars such as Lactantius, John Chrysostom and Athanasius of Alexandria, but this remained an eccentric current.
Two of hte three mentioned have birth and/or death info on their wiki pages:
- Athanasius I of Alexandria (c. 296–298 – 2 May 373)
- John Chrysostom (c. 347 – 14 September 407 AD)
Modern flat Earth belief originated with the English writer Samuel Rowbotham (1816–1884)
- Samuel Birley Rowbotham (1816 – 23 December 1884, in London)
Do note the cryptic “row both am” found in his surname!! We are in the month of December and given the December cluster as of late, his birthday is relevant.
Note information on others mentioned on the Flat Earth site, that stand out:
- Ethelbert William Bullinger (15 December 1837 – 6 June 1913)
- Ellis Simon Hillman (17 November 1928 – 21 January 1996)
- Eugenie Carol Scott (born October 24, 1945)
- Leo Charles Ferrari (December 8, 1927 – October 7, 2010)
- Raymond Fraser (May 8, 1941 – October 22, 2018)
- Michael Hughes (February 9, 1956 – February 22, 2020)"Mad" Mike …
Today is December 14, so Bullinger’s birthday is an addition to the “Off By One” pattern cluster. January 21 is the birthday of my daughter.
Note the following excerpts:
The scientific experts in Behind the Curve pointed to confirmation bias as a way to maintain a counterfactual belief, by cherry-picking only supporting evidence, and dismissing any disconfirming evidence as part of the purported global conspiracy
In the end that is the core malfunction of the flat-earthers, and the modern populist rejection of expertise in general. It is a horrifically simplistic view of the world that ignores (partly out of ignorance, and partly out of motivated reasoning) to [sic] real complexities of our civilisation. It is ultimately lazy, childish, and self-indulgent, resulting in a profound level of ignorance drowning in motivated reasoning
Motivated reasoning (motivational reasoning bias) is a cognitive and social response in which individuals, consciously or sub-consciously, allow emotion-loaded motivational biases to affect how new information is perceived. Individuals tend to favor evidence that coincides with their current beliefs and reject new information that contradicts them, despite contrary evidence.
Motivated reasoning overlaps with confirmation bias. Both favor evidence supporting one's beliefs, at the same time dismissing contradictory evidence. However, confirmation bias is mainly a sub-conscious (innate) cognitive bias. In contrast, motivated reasoning (motivational bias) is a sub-conscious or conscious process by which one's emotions control the evidence supported or dismissed. For confirmation bias, the evidence or arguments can be logical as well as emotional.
Back to the History of Geodesy wiki page, note the following:
Likewise, the fact that Bertold von Regensburg(mid-13th century) used the spherical Earth as an illustration in a sermon shows that he could assume this knowledge among his congregation.
Note from Regensburg’s wiki page and the wiki pages of other notable persons mentioned on the site:
- Bertold of Regensburg (c. 1210 – 14 December 1272)
- Noel Needham (9 December 1900 – 24 March 1995)
- Giovanni Domenico Cassini (8 June 1625 – 14 September 1712)
- Sir Isaac Newton (25 December 1642 – 20 March 1726/27[a])
- Christiaan Huygens, Lord of Zeelhem (14 April 1629 – 8 July 1695)
- Major-General William Roy (4 May 1726 – 1 July 1790)
- Sir George Everest (4 July 1790 – 1 December 1866)
- Jean-Baptiste Biot (21 April 1774 – 3 February 1862)
- Col Alexander Ross Clarke (December 16, 1828 – February 11, 1914)
- Henry Kater (16 April 1777 – 26 April 1835)
- Emile Plantamour (14 May 1815 – 7 September 1882)
- Adolphe Hirsch (21 May 1830 - 16 April 1901)
- Charles Sanders Peirce (September 10, 1839 – April 19, 1914)
- Johann Carl Friedrich Gauss (30 April 1777 – 23 February 1855)
- John Fillmore Hayford (May 19, 1868 – March 10, 1925)
- Friedrich von Struve (15 April 1793 – 23 November [O.S. 11 November] 1864)
- Alexander "Skip" Spence (April 18, 1946 – April 16, 1999)
WHOA!! As you can see, his birthday bridges the April 18 gap:
“April 14, 15, 16(x3), 17, 18, 19/Date Sequence” pattern cluster
This is a pure example of working to accurately decipher the inner twin world’s cryptic communication to us. As part of their coming out and teaching us the cryptic language they are using to communicate to us. Note the following information from notable individuals listed above Skip Spence on the April 16 Wiki page (as prompted by the “Off By One” pattern cluster):
- 1998 – Alberto Calderón (September 14, 1920 – April 16, 1998) Argentinian-American mathematician and academic
- 1998 – Fred Davis (14 August 1913 – 16 April 1998) English snooker player
- 1998 – Marie-Louise Meilleur(August 29, 1880 – April 16, 1998) Canadian super-centenarian
As you can see, we have completed another cluster as per the inner twin worlds propensity for generating clusters in groups of 3 or more: “September 14(x3)” pattern cluster.
Note this excerpt:
The US geodesist Hayford derived a global ellipsoid in ~1910, based on intercontinental isostasy and an accuracy of 200 m. It was adopted by the IUGG as "international ellipsoid 1924".
Interesting that “isostasy” is involved, as indeed, my theory is that the earth’s elliptical sphere was accentuated by the isostasy — massive glaciers of the last glacial maximum pressing down on the poles, serving as a vice grip to depress the poles and in turn the molten core pushing downward would send the molten core to collide near the equator to push out the land here. This in turn would accentuate/elongate the elliptical course of the earth around the sun.
And of course, there’s those who even today still think the world is flat, and a lot of this comes from bible interpretation, note the following excerpt, regarding bible verse leading some Christian’s to believe the world is flat:
Matthew 4:8 records the third temptation:
Those who wish to argue for a biblical flat earth point out that all the kingdoms of the earth would be visible from a tall mountain only if the earth is flat.
The person writing is making the claim that some misinterpret and take litterally what is meant to be an idiom… a saying, like “your pulling my leg” and “fill your boots”…
Perusing through recent additions to Wikipedia’s Deaths in 2024 site, I arrive at:
- Orrin H. Pilkey, 90, American marine geologist
- Orrin Hendren Pilkey Jr. (September 14, 1934 – December 13, 2024)
- David Weatherley, 85, British-born New Zealand actor (The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, Power Rangers Operation Overdrive, Home and Away).
- David John Weatherley (1 March 1939 – 12 December 2024)
