True Colors,… Like a Rainbow

The following notable person recently added to Wikipedia’s Deaths in 2026 site stands out:

Billy Steinberg, 75, American songwriter ("Like a Virgin", "True Colors", "Eternal Flame")

The three songs listed are some of my favourites, especially “True Colours”.  In fact I recall posting about the song in my Toumai Blog.  I found two posts actually, butt found the ONE, so  decided to repost (plus a little guy from the 2nd post):

True Colours Shining Through...Beautiful, Like a Rainbow

I decided to see if I could find Cath's mystery lesbian.  I remember her saying something about
the woman being the first famous musician to come out of the closet, so I had it in my head that
she was very old ... heck, a lot of women musicians have been out for some time-- Melissa
Etheridge, KD Lang...so-oo

So off to wiki.  I simply key in first lesbian musician.   Strange, what comes up top of the list is
a link to wiki article re: Cindy Lauper... no, she's not a lesbian, but there's a mention of her
sister coming out.  I'm reminded of one of my favorite songs sung by Cindy Lauper -- True Colours.
I often burst out singing this song... in my head when in public and out loud  in private when feeling
down... crushed.   It always lifts me up and whenever I sing this song,  I feel as though it’s coming
from someone other than myself... a voice encouraging me.... The Third Woman Syndrom.

 I

You with the sad eyes
Don't be discouraged
Oh,
It's hard to take courage
In a world full of people
You can lose sight of it all
And the darkness inside you
Can make you feel so small

But I see your true colors
Shining through
I see your true colors

And that's why I love you
So don't be afraid to let them show
Your true colors
True colors are beautiful
Like a rainbow

Show me a smile then,
Don't be unhappy, can't remember
When I last saw you laughing
If this world makes you crazy
And you've taken all you can bear
You call me up
Because you know I'll be there
And I'll see your true colors
Shining through
I see your true colors
And that's why I love you
So don't be afraid to let them show
Your true colors

True colors are beautiful... Like a rainbow

As wiki reveals,  Cyndi Lauper was born on June 22, 1953 (synchro)... and has released 11 albums.
I find it curious that in the section entitled 1986–1988: True Colors, is this mention:

Playhouse star Paul Reubens (Pee Wee Herman) appeared on the True Colors album track "911"
as an emergency operator.

This is enough for me to wiki check Paul Reubens.  There's quite alot written up, butt note this
excerpt:

He played Rick of the citizen's patrol on the popular Comedy Central show Reno 911!, which gained
him a small role in the 2007 movie Reno 911!: Miami

So, what's up with all the 911 mentions?  So, off to check out Cynci Lauper's True Colours 911 track
for any synchros:

It won double platinum for one... hmm and the first song on the album:

1."Change of Heart" (Lauper, Essra Mohawk) – 4:22 (note the double 22).

Now, checking out some of  the lyrics to 911...

Oh he likes mornings, I like the moon

It's a typical case of too little, too soon
I'm dialing up 911
I'm on the brink of trouble again,
If you could change the time, a little,
Then everything would be
Fine, fine, fine

Now, getting back to Cathy's mystery woman.  Another woman did come up,  Country Music singer Chely
Wright who just recently came out as a lesbian.  Would she be the right woman... butt she's sooo young...?
Hmm maybe Cath meant to say first Country Music singer.  Do note  how her name sounds like "Shelly"...
hmm shelter.  I think this is our woman!!  So off to wiki.

Wright released the first single from her fifth studio
album, Never Love You Enough. The album was originally
scheduled to be released on September 11, 2001 but due
to current events, the album date was pushed back to
September 25.Although Never Love You Enough debuted
at #4 on the Billboard Country Albums chart, it was unable
to match the success of Single White Female.

In her life, Chely would do many important things, the most
important of all was to have a change of heart ... and lay
down the gun she held to her head.  Then she would pick
up the pieces and move on... to do three important things
all in the early month of May -- she would come out with an
album, come out with her memoirs and last butt not least,
whe sould come out of the closet.

True colours... beautiful... like a rainbow... Like Tou
