The following notable person recently added to Wikipedia’s Deaths in 2025 site stands out:
- Ray French (23 December 1939 – 26 July 2025) 85, rugby (national team) player
What first caught my eye was his surname “French”, given especially that my previous post concerns the French name Droz, that had cropped up twice on Wikipedia’s Deaths in 2025 site within a few days of each other. Note as well that the surname Droz is an addition to the “Exchange Letter in Name Makes a Word” pattern cluster, and so exchanging the “z” with a “p”, makes “Drop”. The word “drop” connects in cryptic fashion to another recent surname cluster, “Fallon”, note from my July 22nd post:
- John Fallon (16 August 1940 – 22 July 2025) 84, Scottish footballer (Celtic)
- Richard H. Fallon Jr. (January 4, 1952 – July 13, 2025) 73, legal scholar, cancer
So “drop” and “fall on” most definitely jive— a “Fall on/Drop” pattern cluster!! It’s interesting that we are provided with the very specific phrase “fall on”, and not just “fall”, … perhaps so we aren’t confused with the cryptic communication being “fall in/drop in”. The name Richard also provides us with the cryptic “rich hard”.
The fact that Ray French was born on December 23rd is a twin heads upp in that my mother’s birthday is November 23rd and her date of death is July 23rd (the anniversary of which was just 5 days ago). Keep in mind that my mother is Acadian— descended from French settlers (she is also of local indigenous Mi’kmaq descent). This connects in cryptic fashion to another recent notable death:
- Graylin Warner (Sept 7, 1962 – July 17, 2025) 62, basketball (Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns)
While Cajuns are usually described as the descendants of the Acadian exiles who went to Louisiana over the course of Le Grand Dérangement, Louisianians frequently use Cajun as a broad cultural term (particularly when referencing Acadiana) without necessitating race or descent from the deported Acadians.
There is definitely a “French Theme” pattern cluster in the works. And to top it off, note the following notable person recently added to Wikipedia’s Deaths in 2025 site stands out:
André Vingt-Trois(7 November 1942 – 18 July 2025) 82, French archbishop of Paris
First of all, what a strange surname. Vingt-Trois is French for “Twenty-Three”. That the number 23rd crops up now — in July, is notable given that my mother was born on the 23rd (November), and passed away on 23rd (July)— the anniversary of her passing is just 5 days from Andre’s death. I considered this to be a twin heads upp. So when the anniversary of my mothers passing came along, I paid close attention to the notable persons on Wikipedia’s Deaths in 2025 site who passed away July 23rd, such as this person:
Ahmed Jan (23 March 1952 – 23 July 2025) 73, Pakistani football referee
Also like my mother, he was born on the 23rd day, so they share in common a “Born and Died on the 23rd Day” pattern cluster.
Given that my grandson was born on January 23, we also now have a:
“January 23, __, March 23,__, …, July 23 (x2),…,__, November 23, December 23/ 23rd Day, Month Sequence” pattern cluster.
Three other notable persons who passed away July 23, 2025 also stand out:
- Mikhail Smolin (22 February 1971 – 23 July 2025) 54, Russian historian
- Jean Lacombe (16 April 1943 – 23 July 2025) 82, French politician, deputy
- Jean Kerléo (24 February 1932 – 23 July 2025) 93, French perfumer
Two have the same first name “Jean”— French version of “John”, and it’s also interesting to note that “Jan” is also a version of “John”. Also, we have additions to the “French theme” pattern cluster. And then Smolin shares the same birthday as my other grandson and together with Kerleo, we have a “February 22(x2), __, 24/Date Sequence” pattern cluster.
