The following notable persons recently added to Wikipedia’s Deaths in 2025 site stand out:
- Terry Reid (13 November 1949 – c. 5 August 2025), 75, rock singer (Peter Jay and the Jaywalkers) nicknamed "Superlungs”
- Roland Courteau (24 February 1943 – 4 August 2025) 82, French senator
Both surnames have cryptic connections. First, “Courteau” breaks down into a French/English phrase re: “court eau (French for water). This is also in keeping with the recent cluster re “Names ending in ‘o’/‘eau’” pattern cluster. Note the definition/origin:
The surname Courteau is derived from the French word court, meaning "short" or "small".
So the word “court” stands out to me personally as I have been embroiled in a court case (division of property).
The surname Reid stands out to me personally as well, since the surname of my ex’s lawyer is Reid, so we already are aware of cryptic elements hear— means “red” in origin and cryptic relationship to “read”, “reed”, “red” and “rid”. Reid’s birthday also stands out given that it falls on the 13th day, and so an addition to a cluster in my previous post:
“May 13(x4), June 13, …, December 13/13th Day, Month Sequence” pattern cluster.
There is another notable person who recently passed away who also factors in:
- Michelle Duff (born Michael Alan Duff , [ ) 85, Canadian motorcycle racer
And so the Cluster expands:
“May 13(x4), June 13, …, December 13(x2)/13th Day, Month Sequence” pattern cluster
I find it curious as to why he changed his name from Michael to Michelle and wondered if maybe this has to do with identifying as female. On reading his wikipedia page I see that this is indeed the case:
Born male, Duff subsequently underwent gender reassignment surgery and later wrote about her life as a trans woman in Make Haste, Slowly: The Mike Duff Story
The surname Duff means “black” or “dark” in name origin, butt then note the etymology:
duff(n.)
"buttocks, rump," 1830s, of unknown origin. The word had a variety of colloquial, slang, or provincial senses late 18c.-early 19c., some of them at least probably related: "dough," also "stiff flour pudding" (nautical, 1840); something worthless or spurious (1781)
Note this next excerpt from Duff’s wikipedia page:
Duff had a near-fatal accident in Japan , requiring numerous surgeries. Her recovery was documented in a 1967 National Film Board of Canada documentary short, Ride for Your Life , directed by Robin Spry . [ 3
Note from Robin Spry’s wiki page:

Anyone reading this blog on a regular basis would know the special meaning behind the date of October 25th.
Since there is a connection to my previous post, we need to consider the cryptic communication also found in the names re:
- Elchin Afandiyev (13 May 1943 – 3 August 2025) 82, writer and politician.
- Federico Caputi, (13 May 1950 – 3 August 2025) 75, football player, manager
- Dame Stella Rimington (13 May 1935 – 3 August 2025) 90, director general of MI5
- James Whale (13 May 1951 – 4 August 2025) 74, radio personality, television presenter
From their names we arrive at a cryptic communication via the “Word in Name” pattern cluster that Provides us with “chin, fan, and, fed, cap put, caput/kaput, dam, tell, Stella, rim ton, jams, whale, hale”.
Consider for instance the surname Rimington that contains a cryptic “rim”, and note from my recent July 16th post, Blacksmith vs Whitesmith:
What you will note from that origin of verge, is that it means “edge, rim” in origin, two words that when keyed into this blogs search box will bring up many posts, most of which that deal with a particular event involving the outer rim/edge of certain tectonic plates.
As for the name Michael and Michelle, the middle name of my son is Michael, and the middle name of my daughter is Michelle.
