Tom Towles RIIP: About Face and Disfigured ear(Part 3)

As a followup to my previous post, note from the About Face wiki page:

This certainly jives along with the facial disfigurement (the eye injuries) that occurred as a result of an asteroid propelling through the earths atmosphere.  Note from the charity's wiki page: 

 The overall educational program was created by Paul Stanley,^[5] of the rock band Kiss, who was born with an ear deformity.

His surname stands out given the etymology: 

 composed of the Olde English pre 7th Century "stan", a stone, plus "leah", a wood or clearing.Read more:  http://www.surnamedb.com/Surname/Stanley#ixzz3WYqyn0UY

It's just that a meteorite is a "stone" of sorts that on impact often results in another form of scarring: clearing out sections of forest.

His right ear was misshapen from a birth defect called microtia; he was unable to hear on that side, thus he found it difficult to determine the direction of a sound, and he could not understand speech in a noisy environment.^[2] 

Not long ago I wrote a post about my deaf ear and the deaf ear of my son in law... and of Van Gogh's severed ear!!
