John Vanderhoof RIIP: Hoof it or Strike!!

The Deaths in 2013 lists under September 18:
John David Vanderhoof, 91, American politician, Governor of Colorado (1973–1975
His name John stood out given that it's an addition to the recent "John/Jack/Joanne/Jones..." pattern-cluster.  Note the following from his wiki page:

Preceded byJohn Love

That another John crops up... one with such a meaningful surname, serves as yet another heads up.  Note the following from John Love's wiki page:
John Arthur Love (November 29, 1916 – January 21, 2002)
First of all, he died on my daughters birthday, hence this is an addition to the "Targetting Family Birthdays" pattern-cluster.   Secondly, note the following info regarding the day he was born:
November 29 -  is the 333rd day of the year (334th in leap years) in the Gregorian calendar. There are 32 days remaining until the end of the year.
Since he was born on a leap year, he was born on the 334th day of the year with 32 days remaining.  This is an addition to the "Off By One" pattern-cluster... as in one off from the 333rd da of the year with 33 days remaining.

Since his surname Vanderhoof  is a cryptic way of saying "of the hoof", there's  a likelihood that the inner twin world designed this to factor into the broader communication.  So this is where etymology comes in handy.  According to the free online etymology dictionary, there are 2 definitions:

  • hoof (v.) Look up hoof at Dictionary.com "to walk" (hoof it), first attested 1640s, from hoof (n.); slang meaning "to dance" is 1920, American English (implied inhoofer). Related: Hoofed; hoofing.
  • hoof (n.) Look up hoof at Dictionary.com Old English hof "hoof," from Proto-Germanic *hofaz (cf. Old Saxon, Old Frisian hof, Old Norse hofr, Danish hov, Dutch hoef, German Huf "hof"), from PIE *kop- "to beat, strike" (cf. Sanskrit saphah "hoof"). For spelling, see hood (n.1).
I find this one a little confusing, butt I'll give it a try: unless we begin "hoofing it"... they will continue to strike!!  I'm just the unfortunate messenger caught in the middle folks, so hold the fire!!
