Four Mountaineers born on January 15... Audd?!

Given the last post that mentions Mountaineer Roger Payne who passed away in 2012, I thought that more consideration should be given to the 4 Mountaineers born on January 15th mentioned in previous posts.  When taking into consideration that Wikipedia reveals the notable Climber/Mountaineer count to be about 460 as per:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_climbers_and_mountaineers, this beats the audds.  Keep in mind that there are around 195 mountaineers in the list, with the rest being rock climbers (as per the stats recorded on the site: http://www.ranker.com/list/list-of-famous-mountaineers/reference which lists 195 mountaineers).

I decided to take it a step further in order to get a better idea as to how many had been left out by Wikipedia's date sites.  Note the following that lists mountaineers found under Wikipedia's dates as listed below which are taken from the section re notable "Births":
January 12: no mountaineers born on this date (none)
January 13:
1932  Barry Bishop, American mountaineer, photographer, and scholar (d. 1994)

January 14: none
January 15:
1919  Maurice Herzog, French mountaineer (d. 2012)
1938  Ashraf Aman, Pakistani engineer and mountaineer
1959 – Pavle Kozjek, Slovenian mountaineer and photographer (d. 2008)
January 16:
1958  Anatoli Boukreev, Russian mountaineer (d. 1997) (January 16, 1958 – December 25, 1997)
January 17: none
Jan 18: none
Jan 19: none
Jan 20:
1971-  Gerard McDonnell, Irish mountaineer (d. 2008)
Jan 21: none
Jan 22: none
Jan 23: none
Jan 24: none
Jan 25: none
Jan 26: none
Jan 27: none
From the above, those under January 15 Births total 3 which is unusual, and keep in mind that a fourth mountaineer recently passed away and who was born on January 15th is not mentioned in the above list (although he is mentioned under March 20th wiki site under the heading "Deaths"):
1924--Wallace George LoweCNZMOBE (15 January 1924 - 20 March 2013)[1]
The cluster of 4 born on January 15 out of approximately 195 Mountaineers beat the audds!!

Given that mountaineer George Lowe hadn't been added to Wikipedia's January 15th list of notable births, I decided to venture through Wikipedia's list of mountaineers/rock climbers from the 460 total. Note the following had not been added to the respective wiki "birth dates" (as noted by asterisk* and bold letters):
January 13:
  • 1932  Barry Bishop, American mountaineer, photographer, and scholar (d. 1994)
  • *Vitaly Mikhaylovich Abalakov  (January 13 [O.S. December 31] 1906  – May 26, 1986 in Moscow[1]) was a Soviet mountaineer and inventor.
  • *Toni Kurz (January 13, 1913 in Berchtesgaden, Germany – July 22, 1936 on Eiger, Switzerland) was a German mountain climber
January 14 :
  • *Robert Hicks Bates (January 14, 1911 – September 13, 2007) was
  • * Fred Beckey (born Friedrich Wolfgang Beckey, 14 January 1923)
  • *Eero Veikka Juhani Gustafsson, known as Veikka Gustafsson (born 14 January 1968) is a Finnish mountaineer who has ascended all 14 eight-thousanders in the world without the use of supplemental oxygen (1,2)
  • *Robert Edwin Hall, MBE (14 January 1961 – 11 May 1996), was a New Zealandmountaineer
January 15:
January 16:
  • 1958  Anatoli Boukreev, Russian mountaineer (d. 1997) (January 16, 1958 – December 25, 1997)
January 17:
 Jan 18: none; Jan 19: none;
 Jan 20:
Jan 21: none; Jan 22: none; Jan 23: none; Jan 24: none; Jan 25: none; Jan 26: none; Jan 27: none
A total of 9 extras have been added to the above January Birth days.  As you can see from the above, not only are there 4 mountaineers with birthdays falling on January 15th, there are now 4 mountaineers with January 14 birth days (hence falling into the "Off By One" pattern-cluster category).   As well, two more have been added to January 13th, giving a total of 3 Mountaineers born on this day, again, this also beats the odds.

This isn't to say that other mountaineer clusters with other birth dates throughout the year haven't occurred and perhaps they are even more than 4, however, what's important is that the inner twin world has brought this particular cluster to my attention.  It appears to me that they created the clusters around January 14 and 15 knowing full well that I am already in tune to the date of January 15 given that both my son and life partner are born on this day.
