Ralph Hotere RIIP, Black Paintings

The Deaths in 2013 site notes the following:

Ralph Hotere, 81, New Zealand artist.^[1]

Note the following from his wiki page:

Also during the late 1960s, Hotere began the series of works with which he is perhaps best known, the Black Paintings.

His work... and "timely" death,  certainly fits into the "Gray/Black/Schwartz pattern-cluster.
