Note the following in regards to a notable horse recently added to Wikipedia’s Deaths in 2026 site:
Frosted (April 18, 2012 – April 15, 2026)13, American Thoroughbred racehorse, euthanized
I’ve been waiting for a horse to trot onto the scene after Judith Trotter was added on April 5:
Judith Trotter (30 August 1935 – 5 April 2026) NZ ambassador to France and Italy
That his name is “Frosted” is a twin heads upp as well, given the topic of conversation as of late has centred around glaciers.
Sire Tapit (foaled February 27, 2001)
Going to the pedigree section of Frosted’s wiki page, I noted the following info on one of his ancestors:
Nijinsky (21 February 1967 – 15 April 1992)
They both died on April 15. Another twin heads upp, … so I dug deeper, note from Tapit’s wiki page:
- Tapit, a dominant grey stallion standing at Gainesway Farm, is known for producing a high percentage of gray offspring (roughly 50% when bred to non-gray mares). Many of his most successful runners inherited his signature grey coat, turning white or dapple-grey as they matured
So Frosted is one of his grey offspring. So I investigated further and found a list of some of the most famous and successful grey offspring of Tapit, where one stands out:
Cupid (foaled May 19, 2013)
Note the following information from Frosted’s pedigree:
- Tapit ( foaled February 27, 2001) sire
- Pulpit (February 15, 1994 – December 6, 2012)
- A.P. Indy (March 31, 1989 – February 21, 2020)
- Unbridled (March 5, 1987 – October 18, 2001)
- Seattle Slew (February 15, 1974 – May 7, 2002) sea, seat, settle, sew, slow (*slew)
- Mr. Prospector (January 28, 1970 – June 1, 1999)
- Weekend Surprise (April 8, 1980 – March 13, 2001)
- Fappiano (May 19, 1977 – September 3, 1990)
- Deputy Minister (May 17, 1979 – September 10, 2004)
- Vice Regent (April 29, 1967 – June 18, 1995) vice, mice, dice, lice, rice, ice, recent (*rent)
- Northern Dancer (May 27, 1961 – November 16, 1990)
- Roberto (16 March 1969 – 2 August 1988) rob
The horse that stands out the most is “ Northern Dancer”, given that it’s an addition to the recent “Cardinal Points” and “North/West Theme” pattern clusters. So a prompt to investigate further. Note the following info regarding notable persons and horses mentioned on Northern Dancer’s wiki page:
William John Hartack Jr. (December 9, 1932 – November 26, 2007)
Edward Plunket Taylor (January 29, 1901 – May 14, 1989)
Nearctic (February 11, 1954 – July 27, 1973)
Nearco (January 24, 1935 – June 27, 1957)
Native Dancer (March 27, 1950 – November 16, 1967), nicknamed Gray Ghost
Native Dancer is a name that also stands out given that Note the following information on Native Dancer’s breeder:
- bred by Alfred G. Vanderbilt Jr. (September 22, 1912 – November 12, 1999)
We have a “February 27, March 27, ____ 27, May 27, June 27, July 27/ 27th Day, Month Sequence” pattern cluster.
So a prompt to investigate April 27.
If the subducted Pacific plate (or more accurately, the Juan de Fuca plate, a smaller oceanic plate that is actually subducting beneath the Pacific Northwest) ceased to subduct and "came out" (detached/broke off), the North American Plate would not simply "plunk down" or immediately collapseInstead, the region would undergo a profound tectonic reorganization, resulting in significant geological shifts rather than a sudden vertical drop. What Would Likely Happen:
- Tectonic Reorganization: The subduction zonewould likely convert into a transform fault (like the San Andreas Fault) or a diffuse deformation zone.
- Mountain Building Pauses: The primary upward force pushing up the Cascade Mountains—which is the subducted plate melting and uplifting the continent—would cease. The area would likely experience a cessation of volcanic activity in the Cascade Range, similar to what happened in California when the Farallon Plate subducted.
- Crustal Heating and Rifting: Without the cold, heavy slab acting as a "downward anchor," hot mantle material would rise into the space left behind (a "slab window"). This often causes the continental crust to stretch and thin, creating features like the Basin and Range province.
- The "Plunk" Scenario: The "plunking down" would not be a catastrophic drop. Rather, the continental edge might experience subsidence (slow sinking) due to the removal of the underlying slab's compression, or the crust could spread and thin, lowering the elevation over millions of years.
What has not been calculated into the scenario, is that the NW Coast of the NA Plate is rebounding, … AND because it’s doing so as a result of being depressed by miles thick glaciers, an event that would have also flattened out the curvature before depressing further to become “concave”. Now, as the land rebounds it goes back through the stages in reverse— flattening before rebounding back into its slightly upward curvature origin, a process that will continue until it “pops” up,… accentuating it’s upward curvature in the process, AND in doing so pulls away from the adjacent Juan de Fuca plate that no longer supports it and so slides downward.
