The following notable person recently added to Wikipedia’s Deaths in 2025 site stands out, given the title of one of the films he acted in: When Rules Turn Loose, note from his wiki page:
Chow Chung (16 September 1932 – 4 July 2025) 92, actor (When Rules Turn Loose)
What stood out the most, in the title, was that it jives with something I wrote in my Closing Arguments for my Civil Court Case. I was surprised when I saw the films poster ad, obviously it’s about Court. At the sidebar of the films wikipedia page is a list of actors, clicking on the wiki-link in each of their names reveals the following info:
- Liza Wang (born 28 August 1947)
- Myolie Wu (born 6 November 1979)
- Sammul Chan (born 4 May 1978
- Marco Ngai (born 20 October 1967)
- Wayne Lai (born 4 May 1964)
- Ha Yu (born 14 June 1943)
Francesco Caprio (born November 24, 19362
His birthday is one off from my mother’s birthday of November 23, and so another addition to the “Off By One” pattern cluster. So in thinking about the mistake, I also realized that capris is a word— short pants often worn by women. Note this excerpt from the capris wiki page:
The actress Audrey Hepburn was among the first movie stars who wore capris, and the pants quickly became synonymous with her classic style.
Note from Audrey Hepburn’s wikipedia page:
Audrey Kathleen Hepburn (née Ruston; 4 May 1929 – 20 January 1993)
So now you see them in action!! We have our third 4 May, a perfect hand of three, as per the inner twin worlds propensity for generating clusters in groups of 3 or more.
Some of the other names for capri pants are interesting:
flood pants, jams, highwaters,…
Of course his being from Providence, RI, means that he too, … as with anyone living near the shore, …and including where I live here in Nova Scotia, are in the danger zone. The danger zone being near enough to the outer perimeter of the North American tectonic plate that is still undergoing isostatic adjustment, which in this case means that it is due to resettle… so yes flood pants speak cryptic volumes.
Here’s the excerpt from my Closing Arguments that speaks on Rules, where I use an earlier Appeal Decision, a case that I was also a self represented party:
Ocean v. Economical Mutual Insurance Co., 2009 NSCA 81
Although I rely on all cases that I have presented in my BOOK OF AUTHORITIES, VOL 1, 2, it is the Appeal Case of Ocean v. Economical Mutual Insurance Company, found at Tab Q of my BOOK OF AUTHORITIES, that I would like to make a special point of asking My Lady to consider in it’s entirety.
Simply put, for the self-represented Party involved, I can attest that their Decision was and remains to me today, a breath of fresh air after years relentless abuse.
The three women Appeal Court Justices, the Honourable Justice Bateman, the Honourable Justice Roscoe and the Honourable Justice Hamilton deserve a standing ovation from all people, and yes I do mean ALL. As Emma Lazarus famously put it:
"None of us are free until all of us are free"
The three Appeal Judges saw a great need and an equally great challenge, and they met both. That they had reach down to my level, to scoop me up off the ground, and protect me, is a testament to their integrity and their desire to seek Justice for all… and especially those who are down trodden. THEY gave me hope, and countless others who have and will come after me. They are an example and road map of the future.
I noted that they used their power of discernment as they walked in my shoes.
As My Lady is likely aware, self represented Parties are growing in numbers. Rest assured, and I can certainly speak on my behalf in this regard, it’s highly probable that the vast majority of self-representatives simply can’t afford to do otherwise, whether it be for monetary reasons, or that lawyers won’t represent their complicated case, or that they can’t bear the thought of recounting their horrific story to yet another lawyer only to have the door shut on them.
I have indicated throughout my Closing Arguments how this case factors, … and in more ways than one. I ask My Lady to use your powers of discernment in this case, not to break rules, but to bend them where need be, and as Justice Capris famously put it:
"rules are made for people, not people for rules,"
A compassionate approach to the law with an emphasis on understanding and empathy over strict adherence to rules, and striving to consider the circumstances of each individual is what will put the wind back in the sails of so many, and including myself…, just knowing that a great legacy is being left for our children and their children is worth so much.
