Thomson and Thompson Derby Bowler Hatt and Broken Ear

Because of the recent post that included the Earl of Derby (Stanley), I’m reminded of the Derby hat … perhaps the inner twin world worked their sleight of hand here as well.  I discover that it was originally called the  bowler hat.

The word “bowl” has cryptic significance … all you have to do is search this blog to see what that is.  “Hat” also has significance!!

Note from the bowler’s wiki page:

Thomson and Thompson are fictional characters in The Adventures of Tintin, the comics series by Belgian cartoonist Hergé.

The Broken Ear (French: L'Oreille cassée, originally published in English as Tintin and the Broken Ear) is the sixth volume of The Adventures of Tintin

Georges Prosper Remi ( 22 May 1907 – 3 March 1983), pen name Hergé1

Another name that crops up is:

Michel Serres (1 September 1930 – 1 June 2019)

May 1 has cropped up enough in recent posts… so we now have a “May 1, June 1, __,… September 1/1st Day Month Sequence” pattern cluster.  On bridging the July 1 gap, I discover:

July 1 is the 182nd day of the year (183rd in leap years) in the Gregorian calendar; 183 days remain until the end of the year.

and … using the formula as per usual, we arrive at :

Note from their wiki pages:
  • Sola Sierra Henríquez (1 December 1935 – 1 July 1999)
  • Walter Matthau (born Walter John Matthow; October 1, 1920 – July 1, 2000)
Note the “water alter mat how?” In Walter Matthow!!  The cluster expands:

May 1, June 1, July 1, __,  September 1, October 1, __, December 1/1st Day Month Sequence” pattern cluster
