Several of my recent posts includes a “Trees Theme” pattern cluster, with the most recent addition to the cluster being Robert Greenleaf (founder of the modern Servant leadership movement). Very clearly, his surname aka “green leaf” fits. His name had cropped up as my partner and I were solving cryptograms on the Puzzle Baron site. Very early on when we began visiting the site many years ago, we discovered that quotes by women were largely unrepresented, so to get around this we would continue pressing the play button and eventually a woman’s name would show up. Sometimes in this process however, a surname will catch my eye, as was the case with Robert Greenleaf, the founder of the modern Servant leadership movement.
On further investigation I was able to find Greenleaf’s birthday — July 14, in an article “Brilliance Within”. Note the etymology of the name:
Greenleaf from either Greenlee in Northumberland or just possibly Greenlea in Dumfries, Scotland, or that it is a dialectal variant of Grindl...pre 7th Century words 'gren', meaning green and 'leah', a fenced enclosure in a forest.
What I find interesting, is that my granddaughters middle name is Greenlee!!
