I WANT TO LIVE!!

Perusing through Wikipedia’s Deaths in 2020 site, the most recently added “John” to date is:
Johnny Mandel, 94, American composer ("Suicide Is Painless", "The Shadow of Your Smile", "Emily"), Grammy winner (1966)
John Alfred Mandel (November 23, 1925 – June 29, 2020)
My mothers birthday is also November 23rd.   Mandel’s Wiki page starts off by mentioning 8 musicians he worked with, where 2 of the surnames stand out — O’Day and Horn.  Not only are the names also words re “day” and “horn”, butt combined they generate a cryptic phrase— “day to blow ones horn” (a combination of “toot ones horn”... and a “signal to warn of danger”)... and “horn” also connects to Mandel’s occupation— composer.  Note from their wiki pages:
Another addition to the “Targeting Family Birthdays” pattern cluster... and generating the now “November 23(x3)” pattern cluster.  Horn’s birthday, May 1, contains a cryptic “May won”... which is that much more meaningful when considering my name is May!!  AND, we also have an “October 18, __, 20/Date Sequence” pattern cluster.

Note this excerpt from Mandel’s wiki page:
debut film score he composed by himself in 1958 the multi nominated I Want to Live!
I like the sound of that— I WANT TO LIVE!!  A positive in a sea of negative.  So lets investigate the films wiki page... namely the notable persons mentioned in the first paragraph:
