The four took their band name from the song and album Dixie Chicken by Lowell George of Little FeatThe “Little Feat” caught my eye. And the name Lowell George contains a cryptic “low elle twin gorge”. Note from his wiki page:
- Lowell Thomas George (April 13, 1945 – June 29, 1979)
The name of the band came from a comment made by Mothers' drummer Jimmy Carl Black about Lowell's "little feet". The spelling of "feat" was an homage to the Beatles.
