Bot vs Pott

Continuing from my previous post, I decided to post a comment to Jane Philbott re: Full text of a statement posted to Facebook by Jane Philpott, after her expulsion from the Liberal caucus was announced by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

My comment explained that I couldn’t help butt consider Trudeau’s seeming “faux-pas”— using “Philbot” in place of “Philpott”... namely the “bot” part, as a tongue in cheek/coded message to fellow cronies, after all, bot in my books is a negative, especially when you know the etymology:
bot (n.)in internet sense, c. 2000, short for robot. Its modern use has curious affinities with earlier uses, such as "parasitical worm or maggot" (1520s), of unknown origin; and Australian-New Zealand slang "worthless, troublesome person" (World War I-era)
