Needless to say my friend was horrified, as am I many others I'm sure. The article is even more distressing. HOW does this happen?! I will say this on the subject: I do believe that there are far more adult individuals out there, mostly male, who are sexually attracted to children, although they do not voice it or act on it. It is part of the evolutionary process ... and todays problem -- the slow and steady move from hunter to domestic. Nature evolved the human "hunter", equipping them with a strong predatory instinct and hard wiring it into their genetic code so they have a predisposition that did well when hunting wild game was the order of the day and necessary for survival. Because hunting is no longer the order of the day for these individuals, the desire to prey doesn't necessarily go away... in most cases, it's simply diverted, with some being more successful in diverting their hunter instinct in positive ways ie: doctors who hunt disease and those who hunt down pedophiles. There are others in the predator mix who don't fare well... they become an enemy of a just and caring society. In the wild, predators generally hunt the weak ie: the young, and this too is hard wired by natural selection, and so enabling these predators to survive better given that they are less likely to be injured and/or fail to bring down prey. This is my "common sense" observation. Consider this, a domesticated cat that's well fed still hunts whenever the opportunity arises, and if the cat's not hungry it tortures its prey as a means of prolonging the pain and distress that it finds attractive. That's why we have the saying: playing cat and mouse... except there's no play involved for the mouse!! In the case of pedophiles, they have gone awry in much the same way-- their predatory instincts that once made them exceptional hunters/providers for their family/community now make them lethal predators ... and pedophiles.
I consider my friends comment as a heads up. Although I have heard of a few celebrity pedophiles, I decided to investigate. Google brought me to a site: 10 Celebrities You Didn't Know Were Pedophiles. On perusing the list I found one that fitz: glam rock singer, Gary Glitter . His surname is a stage name that fitz with the recent "Silver/Metal Theme" pattern-cluster given the saying "all that glitters is not gold", which happens to have a wiki page, and this excerpt:
And then Glitters middle name Francis communicates "frank/truth". What I find interesting is Glitters real surname re "Gad"... making me think of the saying "Ee gads!!"-- an expression of shock... disgust... anger. Note the etymology and definition of the word:

There's one other thing that I would like to address on a personal note:
We gays, lesbians, bi-sexuals, transgendered have fought so long to have our freedom and we are still fighting. One of the great battles fought was to have the Psychiatry Bible changed so that homosexuality was no longer a crime or even considered "abnormal"... and in fact knowing what I know today-- that we have an inner twin that in many (if not all) cases is opposite to our "outer twin" gender, then one can understand that two hormones (not to mention in some cases actual dual male/female genitalia) alive and well in a single body puts a whole new meaning to "homosexuality/bisexuality is absolutely normal". The key in all of this is "consenting adults"... if any adult in society is fostering a sexual relationship with a child, this is pedophilia. PERIOD... DOUBLE EXCLAMATION... NEVER THE TWAIN SHALL MEET... NOT ACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR... EE-GADDS!! It appears to me that Pedophiles are trying to ride the tail of our LGBT gains. This attempt for pedophiles to link with us can and will set our gains back!! And maybe that's what's really going on-- right wing gay bashers who want people to start making the association. I remind people, that most pedophiles are heterosexual males... and a great many are the victims father. That is the especially sad and horrifying truth... a double breech of trust atop harm from physical assult!!
Allowing adults the freedom to vocalize their desire to murder, harm and/or lust after children (even though they never follow through) is not acceptable for the simple reason that it can and will be used by the predator to threaten innocent people... namely children. Remember, predators actually like to torture... including generating fear in people. We can't stop people thinking what they want, or saying and doing what they want, however we can dissuade unwanted behaviour. As a conscientious society who values raising children in happy/friendly homes and communities, we can and need to address the issue of perpetrators who freely vocalize. If given this freedom, it has to be done in a manner that protects children while informing parents so they can then do necessary things to protect their children: like keep them away. What we need are camera's everywhere... that would certainly be a deterrent... and protect children from the human predator!! We have a very long way to go folks... a long way to go. I/we can never rant to much about this issue. Having said the above, human predators are a product of evolution, and as such we need to be aware of the dangers when changes in our environment such as the big event that moved us away from "hunter/gatherers", and so enabling ills to creep in such as pedophilia. For sure, there are ways to help these individuals control themselves, and part of that means we do need to become more aware. In the meantime, the inner twin world is doing what they can, however if perpetrators knew that the inner twin "matriarchal" world exists and is ready to pounce on them, then that in itself will keep them from doing their dirty deeds.
