Witty May

The Deaths in 2017 site lists under April 20, 21, 23:
  • Julian Gordon Priestley (26 May 1950 – 23 April 2017)
  • Sandy Gallin, (May 27, 1940 – April 21, 2017)
  • Paul Hébert (May 28, 1924 – April 20, 2017)
So we have a "May 26, 27, 28, _/ Date Sequence" pattern-cluster.  So now to bridge the gap.   On the May 29 wiki page ... using the formula as per usual... and as I was perusing the list of deaths, I came across a name that stood out :
First of all, we're investigating a May pattern-cluster, and secondly, My name is "May", and I like to think that yes, "witty I am".   I have been brought to this precise moment for a reason.   From among May Whitty's list of filmography, two were released during years ending in twin digit numbers:
  • Gaslight (1944) as Miss Bessie Thwaites
Release date
  • May 4, 1944
Release date
  • May 11, 1944 (USA)
Both films were released in MAY!! The first one released on 4 May is a cryptic  "for May".  The  numeric version of the date is 5/4/44 and so is an addition to the "Off By One" pattern-cluster, as in one off from 4/4/44.   Note from the cast and crew of Gaslight:
