I begin now with investigating Sakai's wiki page, collecting relevant birt/death dates from the wiki pages of notable persons mentioned. First, note this excerpt that stands out:
On the night of 16 May, Sakai and his colleagues, Hiroyoshi Nishizawa and Toshio Ota, were listening to a broadcast of an Australian radio program, when Nishizawa recognized the eerie "Danse Macabre" of Camille Saint-Saëns. Inspired by this, Nishizawa came up with the idea of doing demonstration loops over the enemy airfield. At the end of an attack on Port Moresby that involved 18 Zeros,[10] the trio performed three tight loops in close formation over the allied air base
May 16 is Rob MacGregors birthday... a date that just keeps cropping up. AND also standing out is the 18 "Zero's"... which brings us once again to my recent Nov 6 post, Rob's Big So W-Hatt (Wellington Part 73), that involves a heated conversation I had with Rob:
And you mention "zero sense"...now here's a Zero or 2 for you: "Mr. Zero", is the name of a song by Keith Relf of the Yard Birds...and then there's "Mr. Zero" the NHL hockey goalie. Shall we check out their zero/random dates:
-William Keith Relf (22 March 1943 – 14 May 1976)-Francis Charles "Mr. Zero" Brimsek (September 26, 1915 – November 11, 1998) ...So note the last date...today is 11/11... the anniversary of Mr. Zero's (Brimsek) death!!! And do note the "brim" in his name-- a cryptic communication. So we go back now to the two other pilots mentioned in the above excerpt, note from their wiki pages:
Toshio Ōta (20 March 1919 – 21 October 1942)Two more Octobers. Expanding on a cluster from my previous post, we now have a:
Hiroyoshi Nishizawa (January 27, 1920 – October 26, 1944)
I included an Oct 25 due to the fact that three of my life-partners family were born on Oct 25.
- "October 17, 18(x2),19(x2), __, 21_,_,_,25,26/ Date Sequence" pattern-cluster.
Continuing to investigate those mentioned on Sakai's wiki page:

- Junichi Sasai (February 13, 1918 – August 26, 1942)

- John Smith "Jimmy" Thach (April 19, 1905 – April 15, 1981)
we now have an :
"October ...12,_,_,_,_,17, 18(x2),19(x2), __, 21_,_,_,25,26, __, 28/ Date Sequence" pattern-cluster.So one down and 2 to go:
