Another film from the filmography of Wade Boteler.  The twin 44 is designed with a cryptic communication.  Since the number 4 shares the same key on my computer keyboard as the $ dollar sign, the hidden meaning is "money".

Note the following information regarding cast and crew as found on The Last Ride :

• David Ross Lederman (December 12, 1894 – August 24, 1972)  
• Raymond L. Schrock (February 2, 1892 – December 12, 1950) 

The first two investigated share December 12 in common, the Writer, Schrock, passes away on the Director's birthday!!  And to name two more

• Jack Gardner (December 13, 1902 - February 13, 1977)
• Harry Strang (December 13, 1892 - April 10, 1972) 

Hmm, the "hairy and strange Jack gardner" -- must be Jack and the Bean Stalk who braves all, even a Fee Fi Fo Fum giant in order to get his hands on the golden goose!!  I guess the golden goose  can be equated with 44/$$.
