The Deaths in 2014 site lists under May 27 and May 28:
Let me begin with a quote by Maya Angelou: "I love to see a young girl go out and grab the world by the lapels. Life's a bitch. You've got to go out and kick ass."
- Ruth Flowers, 74, British disc jockey.[20]
- Maya Angelou, 86, American author (I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings), poet ("On the Pulse of Morning") and civil rights activist.
Ruth Flowers "Mamy Rock", world famous DJ mixer, died the day before Maya Angelou, and like Maya, she "KICKED ASS" in her own poetic way as a DJ Mixer, a career that she began at the age of 69 after a bouncer at a club refused to let her in because "she was too old", she was able to convince the bouncer to let her in, explaining that her grandson was there having a birthday bash-- YAY GRANNY!! She loved the electric/vibrant atmosphere so much that she was inspired to begin mixing her own blends that launched her into stardom. And her surname "Flowers" is special in an "inner twin" way when considering the following excerpt taken from Maya Angelou's Wikipedia page:
So Tou, the inner twin world are speaking to us once again... and this time, they won't be silenced. Butt with all that said, you won't even begin to know all that they mean by the word "FLOWER", until you hear the rest of what they have to say... the full context. So you can begin by reading my posts, and since we're on a bit of a "Flower" theme, you can begin by checking out the many posts in this blog that focus on flowers, note this September 6, 2012 post is one of my favourites:Goldbloom, Bloomberg and Star Amarylis Blooms.
Simply key in the word "flower" in this blogs search box and a number of posts will be brought up.
Angelou credits a teacher and friend of her family, Mrs. Bertha Flowers, with helping her speak again".And speak again Maya did, and FLOWERS continue to unfold in KICK ASS cryptic fashion!! May they both RIIIIP.
