I had submitted the following for the CBC "Canada Writes" contest, I didn't win so can now post:
In the year 2,000 the lives of two strangers came together in a way that's hard to fathom. At the very centre, these seemingly ordinary women had faced dilemmas that baffled experts and challenged the very identity of the two women.
In 1998, Karen Keegan was in need of a kidney transplant, and so various family members came forward as possible donors. When the test results came back Karen was informed that two of her three sons were not her biological children. Since Karen had not undergone in vitro fertilization, how could this be?! Over the course of two years further tests ensued. Cells collected from her cervix revealed differing DNA from that of other tissue taken from other parts of her body, DNA that matched her two sons. The experts had only one explanation: while in the womb and during the early stage of gestation, Karen's body had fused with the body of her fraternal twin, the end result being a single appearing body the parts of which belong to one or the other twin, in the case of her uterus and at least one of her ovaries, these belonged to her fraternal twin.
In 2,000, Lydia Fairchild had been recently separated from her husband, and so was in the process of applying for Government Assistance. Before this could take place Lydia was required by law to prove that she was the biological mother of her children, including the one that she was pregnant with at the time. The tests came back negative, and like Karen, her life went into a tailspin. Lydia's situation led to a court battle with the prosecution attempting to have her charged with fraud and the children removed from her care. By a stroke of luck, the prosecuting attorney had read a recent article in the New England Journal of Medicine that made reference to Karen Keegan's case. Similar tests were ordered and before long Lydia was free of all charges, and even though she was not the biological mother of all three children, the courts under the circumstance could do nothing else but accept Lydia as their mother.
Karen Keegan and Lydia Fairchild are what Geneticists refer to as Tetragametic Chimera Humans.
In 1990, conjoined twins Abigail and Brittany Hensel were born with each having a separate
head atop what appears to be a single body. In fact however, their bodies are joined symmetrically, with one twin operating the left side and the other the right. They have learned to coordinate their movements so well, that they walk, run, type, ride a bike and even drive a car.
In 2006 Krista and Tatiana Hogan were born conjoined at their heads. A documentary filmed in 2009 reports that the brainstems of the two girls are connected, enabling their brains to interact in such a way that they can literally see through each other's eyes.
It stands to reason that should the Hensel twins have been conjoined at their heads symmetrically in the same manner as their bodies, then they would look like an ordinary person and their twin-ship may simply go unnoticed by most. If in this situation their brain stems had connected in the same way as Krista and Tatiana, then they would be able to coordinate their movements that much better, and being identical, there would be no differing DNA. It would then be left for other evidence to come forward in order for the truth to be revealed, such as two hearts, or if for instance, the subconscious mind reveals independent thought. In the case of the latter, this would mean that the subconscious is not "ours" as we have long perceived it to be, and if not ours then who else but that of a twin whose very mind fused with our own during the early stages of development while in the womb.
The above scenario's should have us asking questions, like what is the true nature of our subconscious mind? Mysterious thought simmering below the surface only to seamlessly enter our thoughts every now and then to offer clarity and insight. What if the "collective unconscious" is in fact the workings of an "Inner twin parallel civilization"? What if the near simultaneous findings in the lives of Karen Keegan and Lydia Fairchild was more than just a mere coincidence? What if inner twins working together had influenced the lives of their outer twin so that Karen and Lydia's situations would come to the forefront, and bringing us to this precise point in time where we would ask questions such as this, and piece together the truth.
It could very well be that many coincidences in life are not coincidences at all, but "pattern-clusters" generated by inner twins who not only think independently, but are able to influence the thoughts and actions of their outer twin in a seamless fashion. Let me give you an example of what could potentially be one of these pattern-clusters.
Pioneer in the field of Psychology Pierre Janet, argued that beneath the surface of the conscious mind lay a powerful awareness that he called the subconscious mind. Note the following excerpts taken from Wikipedia's information page regarding Pierre Janet:
He is ranked alongside William James and Wilhelm Wundt as one of the founding fathers of psychology.[2]
Janet studied under Jean-Martin Charcot
The three persons mentioned above are notable individuals who have Wikipedia pages designated to them, and from which the following excerpts were taken:
-Wilhelm Maximilian Wundt (16 August 1832 – 31 August 1920)
-Jean-Martin Charcot (29 November 1825 – 16 August 1893)
Charcot had died on Wundt's birthday. This would be considered a coincidence by most, but what if it's more than that, what if it's a purposely generated pattern-cluster, one designed to assist our inner twin's with "coming out" and "communicating" to us-- the outer twin and out outer twin world? There is one other thing in regards to Charcot's date of birth: November 29, 1825 is the 333rd day of the year. Could it be that triple sequences of identical numbers cropping up area form of calling card, a trade mark signature?
Going back to Pierre Janet's Wikipedia page, there are two other notable individuals mentioned who stand out: Josef Breuer and Henri Ey. Note the following from their Wikipedia pages:
Ey was born on 10 August 1900 and died there on 9 November 1977.
Josef Breuer (January 15, 1842 – June 20, 1925)
Ey was born on the 222nd day of the year and Breuer was born on January 15th, a day that is very meaningful to me given that my life partner and my son were born on this day, they are 22 years apart.
It is very possible that there is much more to all of this than what meets the “ey".
