Tor Milde RIIP: Tears and Honey

The Deaths in 2015 site lists under January 15:

Tor Milde, 61, Norwegian journalist and writer (Verdens Gang)

Note the following etymology re Tor:

• Modern Scandinavian form of Þórr (see THOR): From the Old Norse Þórr meaning "thunder"
• tor (n.) "high, rocky hill," Old English torr "tower, rock." Obviously cognate with Gaelic torr "lofty hill, mound," Old Welsh twrr "heap, pile;" and probably ultimately from Latin turris "high structure" see tower (n.)). 

Keep in mind as well the similarity to "tore" past tense of "tear", note the etymology:

tear (v.1) : "pull apart," Old English teran "to tear, lacerate"

When I think of the connections between the three etymology, what comes to mind are the destruction of the twin towers of 9/11 (the day of the year where 111 days remain).  Note another etymology of another... different tear:

tear (n.1) "fluid drop from the eye," Old English tear "tear, drop, nectar, what is distilled in drops," from earlier teahor, tæhher, from Proto-Germanic *tahr

It's interesting to note that when you "tear" the bark of a tree, it "tears"-- sap oozes out... sap that was used in building the original TUSSH of our ancestors (see earlier posts).

It becomes even more interesting when you consider the etymology of his surname "Milde" note the etymology of the word "Mild":

mild (adj.) Old English milde "gentle, merciful," ... from PIE *meldh-, from root *mel- "soft," with derivatives referring to soft or softened materials (cf. Greek malthon "weakling," myle "mill;" Latin molere "to grind;" ...)

Note the similarity to french "Mel", meaning "honey" (and as also found in the name "Melisa" which means "honey bee").  Honey is the derived from the pollen of flowers!! The word Melt is also related to mild.   So in the sense of the twin towers... which the inner twin world had an obvious hand in, the event was bitter-sweet:  inner twins from their world died in the process.  The melting down of the twin towers is to be likened to the breaking the bark of a tree for its sap... or pollen for its honey: various nectar that our ancestors used to build their specialized homes that enabled them to live adjacent to glacial iced fields of Eurasia.  The destruction of the twin towers is also an attack on a construction that cannot withstand what the next glacial event will bring... not even the ones that have been built in place of them... not even with the "clear glass windows" that can take advantage of passive solar energy.  We need far more than that if we are going to survive... and that is where the TUSSH comes in.

He died one day after his birthday!!  Keep in mind that both my partner and son are born on January 15th,  born 22 years apart.  Tor's birthday is an addition to the "Off By One" pattern-cluster... in more ways than one.
