Manuel García Ferré, 83, Spanish-born Argentine cartoonist, complications of heart surgery.[1]What stood out was his surname Ferre, given that I'm already aware, having read the Wikipedia site's information re: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smith_(surname), which states the following:

Words derived from the Latin term for smith (literally "one who works with iron"), such as the Italian words fabbro and ferraio, are the root of last names common in several parts of Europe.[citation needed]This makes Ferre the 8th Smith to pass away this month.
