22 Foot ballers Die in 6 days, RIIP (UPDATE)

Bicycle KickYesterday, my post entitled: Keith Ripley RIIP: 10th Notable Footballer to die in 4 days, documents the death of 16 notable sports figures in the field of : soccer, rugby and foot ball, that  occurred recently between November 11-14.

Today, after logging onto  the Deaths in 2012 site, I noticed that another 6 had been added, bringing the total within the last 6 days to an incredible 23 (14 soccer; 4 foot ball; 5 rugby).

When taking the statistics into consideration, the numbers are definitely out of the ball park.  Note from the Deaths of 2012 site, re player deaths every month since May of 2012:

Nov 11-16:            23 deaths in 6 days
Nov 1-10:               15 deaths in 10 days
Oct 1-31:                38 deaths in 31 days
Sep 1-30:                31 deaths in 30 days
Aug 1-30:                31 Deaths in 30 days
Jul  1-31:                34 Deaths in 31 days
Jun 1-30:                30 Deaths in 30 days
May 1-31:                26 Deaths in 31 days

As you can easily see from the above, the deaths that occurred between Nov 11-16, were 3 times greater than usual.   I was taken aback as well, by how many of these were young.  Of the 212 deaths as per the above, 66 (33%) were under the age of 60; 31 of these were under 40; and 20 of these in their 20's (10%).   Notable young persons found  on the deaths in 2012 site are rare, so  33% of deaths under the age of 60, and 10% being  in their 20's, is much higher than the norm.

For the record, the 8 stats figures below, were taken from the Deaths in 2012 site :
