Tom Waits - Ol' 55

My last few posts involve the recurrence of twin 55 twice and then 555 once.  I should also mention that I'm 55 years old... as is my partner.  Definitely enough of a heads up for me to dig a little deeper.  So, I googled: the meaning of 55.

Google brought up a number of links, and from what I could see, most were religious or some form of  esoteric belief, but I love music and I really like the Eagles, so I opted on the third link:
Ol' 55 Lyric Meaning - Eagles Meanings
Definitely the right choice, because when researching the song further I discovered that it was written and sung originally by a man by the name of "Tom Waits".  For one, Tom is short for Thomas, the etymology of which means "TWIN".

Okay, think about it-- "THE TWIN WAITS"!!  The twin waits for you to get on board perhaps.  When I google for famous 55 Chevy's used in movies, what cropped up was the black 55 Chevy driven by Harrison Ford in American Graffiti.  Funny that Harrison Ford should crop up once again, note the following excerpt taken from my recent July 30th post entitled "William Shatner, Indiana Jones, Mary Tam and Synchro-Hats":

A major cluster synchronicity involving the twin number 22 have also featured prominently in posts as of late (on this blog, my Toumai blog... and on the MacGregor's synchrosecrets blog.  In fact the cluster of 22's had begun with Rob MacGregor' post concerning the mysterious #22  located on his book (the Indiana Jones novel that was never published in the end)-- see their post (Here)

On looking at the books cover once again, I notice the title includes the word "staff"... which wouldn't normally stand out except my previous post involving the name "STAMPE" led me to do a search on the origins of the word "stamp", note the following etymology:
stamp (v.) Look up stamp at Dictionary.comO.E. stempan "to pound in a mortar, stamp," from P.Gmc. *stampojanan (cf. O.N. stappa, M.Du. stampen, O.H.G. stampfon, Ger. stampfen "to stamp with the foot, beat, pound," Ger. Stampfe "pestle"), from nasalized form of PIE root *stebh- "to support, place firmly on" (cf. Gk. stembein "to trample, misuse;" see staff)
So note the reference to "staff" at the end.

Here's the lyrics to Tom Waits  song, Ol' 55:

Well my time went so quickly,
I went lickety-split out to my old '55
As I drove away slowly, feeling so holy,
God knows, I was feeling alive.

Now the sun's coming up,
I'm riding with Lady Luck,
Freeway cars and trucks,
Stars beginning to fade,
And I lead the parade

Just a-wishing I'd stayed a little longer,
Oh, Lord, let me tell you
That the feeling's getting stronger.

And it's six in the morning,
Gave me no warning; I had to be on my way.
Well there's trucks all a-passing me,
And the lights are all flashing,
I'm on my way home from your place.

And now the sun's coming up,
I'm riding with Lady Luck,
Freeway cars and trucks,
Stars beginning to fade,
And I lead the parade

Just a-wishing I'd stayed a little longer,
Oh, Lord, let me tell you
That the feeling's getting stronger.

And my time went so quickly,
I went lickety-split out to my old '55
As I pulled away slowly, feeling so holy,
God knows, I was feeling alive.

Now the sun's coming up,
I'm riding with Lady Luck,
Freeway cars and trucks,
Freeway cars and trucks,
Freeway cars and trucks...
