Wikipedia’s Notable Deaths in 2025 site has recently added the following:
Ray Shero, 62, American ice hockey executive (Pittsburgh Penguins, New Jersey Devils), Stanley Cup champion (2009)
What caught my eye is that his surname is an addition to the “Word In Name” pattern cluster in a very interesting ways, giving us three words:
“she he hero”
The “She he” combination is a cryptic reference to our “she he” human/biological condition of being Natural Human Chimera (to read more about the Genetic research findings, click “here”).
On visiting Shero’s wikipedia page we learn the following:
Rejean "Ray" Shero (July 28, 1962 – April 9, 2025)
His first name “Rejean” has “Jean” in it, another name for “John”, and so an addition to the recent “John” pattern cluster. Interesting too that “re” (do again) is a cryptic synonym of “ray” (note the etymology of re and ray below).
There was another recent addition to Wikipedia’s recent Notable Deaths list, that fits:
John Mayhew, 70, New Zealand sports physician (All Blacks, North Harbour, New Zealand Warriors)
When the name shows up red, it means that the person doesn’t have a wikipedia page, and so no birth or other info is readily available, so I generally just move along, unless something grabs my attention, such as his name, then I will google to see if I can locate his birth info.
First of all, his surname breaks down into a cryptic “May hew”, and with my name being “May”, this is a twin heads up, As well, his first name is an addition to the recent “John” pattern cluster, and so a double twin heads uppp!! In a recent post, I alluded to the fact that the inner twin world had influence my life in a way that enabled me to understand that the name “John” (and other versions like Joanne, Jean, Juan… ) were synonymous with the word “Jeune”— French for “young”. In a 2013 post, I explained how this came about (see bottom of page for an excerpt from the post).
I also learned that Mayhew is a form of Matthew, so note all the etymology:
hew(v.) : PIE *kau- "to hew, strike," (source...Seemingly contradictory sense of "hold fast, stick to" (in phrase hew to)
may(v.1) : PIE root *magh- "to be able, have power.",… (with can, shall, etc.).
Matthew: Hebrew Mattathyah "gift of Jehovah," from mattath "gift."
I did find a recent news article that provides John Mayhew’s birth info:
John Mayhew (July 12, 1954– April 9, 2025)

- ray(n.1): "beam of light, light emitted in a given direction from a luminous body," early 14c., rai, from Old French rai (nominative rais) "ray (of the sun), spoke (of a wheel); gush, spurt," from Latin radius "ray, spoke, staff, rod" (see radius).
- re: "property, goods; matter, thing, affair," from PIE *reh-i- "wealth, goods" (source also of Sanskrit rayi-"property, goods," Avestan raii-i- "wealth").
- *re-*rē-: Proto-Indo-European root meaning "to reason, count;" a variant of PIE root *ar-, also arə-, "to fit together."
- re-: word-forming element meaning "back, back from, back to the original place;" also "again, anew, once more," also conveying the notion of "undoing" or "backward," etc.

Many summers of my youth were spent visiting with my Grandmother and other relatives in Pointe Sapin, New Brunswick. I spent a lot of my time at the house of Aunt Ava, because she had 10 children... and so lots of other kids to hang out with, not to mention that the beach was virtually in their back yard. Now, even though my mother and father are both Acadian French, my siblings and I are not at all fluent although we can get by with speaking and understanding some French... albeit at times it has been a challenge. One particular challenge involves a misinterpretation in regards to the youngest cousin in this family of 10, who I understood his name to be "Charles le Jeune"... which of course made perfect sense since I understood it as meaning "Charles the young(est)"... and besides, the second youngest in the family was name "John Noel" given that he was born on Christmas day... so it gave even more "poetic sense" as to the parents naming their 10th child, Charles The Young. It wasn't until I was much older when I discovered that his name was actually "Charles Eugene"!! They way they pronounce it and saying the name so fast, it really does sound to me like "Charles Le Jeune"!!
