Dumb, Dummer, Dumbo

While doing som Research on my Acadian/Penobscot Ancestry, I came across:

William Dummer (bapt. October 10, 1677 – October 10, 1761) Massachusetts Lieutenant Governor

For one, he died on his birthday, and so an addition to the “Birthday Blues” pattern cluster.  His surname Dummer is a twin heads upp—an addition to the “Exchange Letter in Name Makes a Word” pattern cluster , and so making “dumber” and this in turn is an addition to the recent “Profanity Theme” pattern cluster!! He is remembered for his role in leading the colony during Dummer's War:

Dummer's War (1722–1725)[a] was a series of battles between the New England Colonies and the Wabanaki Confederacy(specifically the Mi'kmaqMaliseetPenobscot, and Abenaki), who were allied with New France. The eastern theater of the war was located primarily along the border between New England and Acadia in Maine, as well as in Nova Scotia; the western theater was located in northern Massachusetts and Vermont in the frontier areas between Canada (New France) and New England

Note AI info in regards to my distant relative Jean-Vincent d'Abbadie de Saint-Castin, whose son Joseph d'Abbadie de Saint-Castin, fought in Dummer’s war:

  • Dummer's War Involvement: Yes. Following in his father’s footsteps, he actively led the Wabanaki Confederacy and carried out raids against New England border settlements.
  • Historical Context: In 1721, Massachusetts authorities kidnapped Joseph in an attempt to weaken the Abenaki and capture Father Sébastien Rale. When the war broke out, Joseph led forces alongside the Penobscot to defend their lands

According to the Genealogy Research that my sister Linda has done, Joseph’s sister, Ursule, is my Great, Great, Great, Great … Grandmother.

As it turns out,  Joseph d'Abbadie de Saint-Castin, has a wikipedia page.

Note from his brothers wiki page,  Bernard-Anselme d'Abbadie de Saint-Castin

By his marriage with Marie-Charlotte Damours de Chauffours he had only three children, all daughters: Marie-Anselme, born in 1711 at Quebec; Brigitte, who was a pupil of the Ursulines of Quebec; and Louise, born in 1716 at Pau.

Now that’s “audd” according to my sister:

On my tree it shows our ancester is Ursule, daughter of Marie Mathilde and Jean Vincent.  Marie and Jean's children are Claire, Cecil, Therese, Brigitte, Bernard, Jean-Pierre, Anastasie, Barenos, Ursule and Chief Joseph.  Ursule married Louis de Chauffours d'Amours in 1717.

Note from the Penobscot Genealogy site, their parents are Louis D’Amours (16 May, 1655 — 09 May 1708)  and Marguerite Guyon (07 Sep 1665 - abt 07 Jan 1708), who had three children:

Judging by the similarity in names, the two are related.

Now back to the Dummer’s War wiki page, and perusing the notable persons mentioned, we come to:

Jonathan Belcher (8 January 1681/82  31 August 1757)

Hmmm. Very interesting dates there — 8th of January is also the birthday of my stepson Gillman, and August 31 is also the birthday of Mega MacGregor (daughter of Rob and Trish who play a big part in what I refer to as the inner twin world’s “Starr Family Production”).  AND, the surname, Belcher is another addition to the “Profanity Theme” pattern cluster… and we have a cryptic name-calling phrase— “dummer belcher”.  This next name also stands out:

Thomas Westbrook (16751743/44) was a senior New England militia officer in Maine during Dummer's War

 William Tailer (February 25, 1675/6 – March 1, 1731/2)

The first name providing us with the cryptic “twin west brook”… that’s a cryptic finger pointing again to my stepson Gillman who lives out “WEST”.

There is also the “October 10(x2)” pattern cluster generated by Dummer’s birth and death, … a prompt to investigate the October 10 wiki … butt instead of using the formula to limit our search as per usual, we see if any notable persons are listed as having died  10/10/10:

  • 2010   Joan Sutherland, Australian-Swiss soprano and actress (born 1926)
Now do note the cryptic “southern land” in her surname…, and so connecting now to Megan MacGregor who along with her parents, live to the South— Florida!!  Note from Sutherland’s wiki page:

Dame Joan Alston Sutherland (7 November 1926 – 10 October 2010)

On perusing her wiki page, this excerpt stood out:

In 1953, she sang the role of Lady Rich in Benjamin Britten's Gloriana a few months after its world premiere, and created the role of Jenifer in Michael Tippett's The Midsummer Marriage

For one, “Lady Rich” is an addition to the recent “Money Theme”… and so also the “Timely” pattern clusters.  And then the name “Tippett” jives with the recent “Teeter-Totter Theme” pattern cluster.  Note from Tippett’s wiki page:

Sir Michael Kemp Tippett (2 January 1905 – 8 January 1998)

Well will you look at THAT!!  He passed away on Gillman’s birthday!! Oh and by the way, Gillman’s surname “Payette” is an addition to the “Word in Name” pattern cluster — providing us with “Pay”, that in turn is another addition to the “Money Theme” pattern cluster

Other notables mentioned on Sutherlands wiki page who stand out:

  • Marilyn Berneice Horne (born January 16, 1934) *horner/horny
  • Dame Marie Roslyn Bashir (1 December 1930 – 20 January 2026)  *dam basher
  • Sherrill Milnes (born January 10, 1935) * she/her shrill miles mines
  • Norman Ayrton (25 September 1924  22 June 2017) *northman
  • Regina Resnik (born Resnick, Aug 30, 1922 – August 8, 2013) *redneck
  • Spiro Samuel Malas (January 28, 1933 – June 23, 2019) *alas
  • Beverly Sills (born Belle Silverman; May 25, 1929  July 2, 2007) *ever, eve, bills, wills, hills, silly, silver, bell Elle

I’ve included in the above, a cryptic deciphering of their names.   Resnik’s date of death stands out the most given he died on my exhusband’s birthday, August 8th, … and yes, he was a bit of a redneck.

It then occurred to me that Dummer aka “dumber” reminds me of my previous post where Jumbo had factored in… that reminded me of Jumbo, there’s the animated film Jumbo— the baby elephant who flew with his oversized ears.  I knew I had post about Dumbo way back in this blog, so I did a search and found it:

Tuesday, July 4, 2017. Dumb-o Wise-o US President, note this excerpt from the get-to:

The MacGregor's post today, Our Trump Prediction – Flopped!,…

On reading further, I see that the image has been removed (probably MacGregor shenanigans again!!).  So I’ll just repost it here:

The MacGregor’s don’t like Trumbo very much. Hey c’mon MacGregor’s, what’s not to like?!  Just look at those glorious golden ears ready to launch!!
